Why Connect Slack to Meetario
If your team lives in Slack, checking email for new bookings is friction you do not need. Meetario's Slack integration posts a message straight into a channel of your choice the moment someone books, cancels, or is about to meet with you — no refreshing your inbox, no missed appointments buried under other messages.
This guide walks through the entire setup: authorizing your Slack workspace, choosing where notifications land, understanding exactly what information each message contains, and confirming it all works before you rely on it.
Before You Start
You will need two things:
- A Meetario account with at least one event type created (see our guide on creating your first booking page if you have not done this yet).
- Permission to install apps in your Slack workspace. If you are not a Slack admin, ask one to approve the connection — Slack will prompt for this automatically during authorization.
Note that Meetario locks each account to a single Slack workspace. If your team already connected one workspace, every additional team member who connects will authorize into that same workspace — this keeps notifications consistent across your organization.
Step 1: Open the Integrations Page
Log in to Meetario and go to Account → Integrations. Find Slack in the list of available integrations and click Connect.
Step 2: Authorize Your Slack Workspace
Clicking Connect redirects you to Slack's own authorization screen. Log in to the workspace you want to use (if you are not already), review the permissions Meetario is requesting, and approve. Meetario only requests the incoming-webhook scope — it can post messages into a channel you choose, but it cannot read your Slack messages, list your team members, or access anything else in your workspace.
Step 3: Choose Your Channel
Here is the part people often miss: the channel picker is part of Slack's authorization screen, not a setting inside Meetario. When you approve the connection, Slack asks you which channel the notifications should post into — pick an existing channel like #bookings, a personal channel just for you, or create a new one on the spot. Once you confirm, Slack hands Meetario a webhook URL tied to that exact channel.
If you later want notifications to go somewhere else, simply reconnect Slack from the Integrations page and select a different channel during authorization. Meetario will start posting to the new destination immediately.
Step 4: Understand What Gets Sent
Once connected, Meetario automatically sends three types of notifications to your chosen channel — there is nothing further to configure:
- New booking — Posted the instant a guest books. Includes the event type name, date and time in your timezone, the guest's name, meeting duration, a clickable join link if a video meeting was created, and a button to view full details in Meetario.
- Cancellation — Posted when a booking is cancelled, showing what was scheduled and who cancelled it, so you do not show up to an empty meeting room.
- Reminder — Posted shortly before a meeting starts, with a one-click join button front and center.
Each message uses Slack's Block Kit formatting, so it renders as a clean, scannable card rather than a wall of plain text.
Step 5: Test Your Notifications
Do not wait for a real client to book before finding out something is misconfigured. The simplest way to test is to open your own public booking page in an incognito window and book a slot with yourself using a secondary email address. Within a few seconds you should see the new booking message appear in your chosen Slack channel. Cancel that test booking afterward to confirm the cancellation message also arrives correctly.
Troubleshooting
- No message appears — Confirm the integration still shows as "Connected" on the Integrations page. Slack webhook URLs can be revoked if someone removes the app from the workspace.
- Wrong channel — Reconnect and pick the correct channel during Slack's authorization screen.
- Multiple team members, no notifications for some — Each user on your Meetario account needs to connect Slack individually under their own login; connecting once does not cover teammates.
Quick Start Checklist
- Go to Account → Integrations → Slack → Connect.
- Approve the Slack authorization screen with your workspace.
- Pick the destination channel when Slack prompts you.
- Book a test slot on your own page to confirm messages arrive.
- Repeat for every team member who needs their own notifications.
