How to Accept PayPal Payments for Bookings

Why PayPal Payments

If you offer paid consultations, coaching, or professional services, you can charge guests at the time of booking with PayPal. PayPal is available in 200+ countries and supports credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal balance — making it one of the most accessible payment methods for your guests.

How It Works

When a guest books a paid event type, they are redirected to PayPal to complete the payment before the booking is confirmed. The payment is processed through your PayPal Business account, and you receive the funds directly.

Step 1: Connect PayPal

  • You need a PayPal Business account. If you have a personal account, upgrade it at paypal.com/business.
  • Go to /app/integrations and find the PayPal card.
  • Click Connect and follow the PayPal authorization flow.

Step 2: Set Up a Paid Event Type

  • Go to your event type settings and enable Require payment.
  • Enter the price and currency.
  • Select PayPal as the payment method.
  • Save the event type.

Guest Experience

  1. The guest selects a time on your booking page.
  2. After filling in their details, they click Book.
  3. They are redirected to PayPal to complete the payment.
  4. After successful payment, the booking is confirmed and they receive a confirmation email.

Refunds and Cancellations

If a guest cancels their booking, you can issue a refund through your PayPal Business dashboard. Meetario does not automatically refund — this gives you control over your refund policy.

Troubleshooting

  • If payments are not processing, ensure your PayPal Business account is verified and in good standing.
  • Check that the event type has the correct price and currency set.
  • If guests report errors, verify that the PayPal integration shows "Connected" in Meetario.
