How to Get Booking Notifications in Facebook Messenger

Why Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger has over a billion users. If you already manage a Facebook Page for your business, Meetario can send booking notifications through that page — no extra app or tool needed. Notifications arrive in your Messenger inbox alongside regular customer messages.

How It Works

Meetario connects to the Facebook Page Messaging API. Your admin provides a Page Access Token, and each team member links their Meetario account to Messenger by sending a 6-digit code to the Page.

Step 1: Set Up a Facebook Page

You need a Facebook Page for your business. If you already have one, skip to Step 2. To create one:

Go to facebook.com/pages/create.
Choose a category and fill in your business details.

Step 2: Get a Page Access Token

Go to developers.facebook.com and create or select an app.
Add the Messenger product to your app.
Under Access Tokens, select your Page and generate a Page Access Token.
Copy the token and your Page ID (visible in the Page URL or in Page settings).

Step 3: Connect in Meetario (Admin)

Go to /app/integrations and find Facebook Messenger.
Click Connect, paste the Page Access Token and Page ID.
Meetario verifies the token by calling the Facebook Graph API. On success, the Page name is displayed.

Step 4: Connect Your Account (Each User)

Go to /app/integrations and click Connect Messenger.
A 6-digit code appears. Open Messenger and send this code to your Facebook Page.
The Page bot responds with a confirmation. Your Meetario account is now linked.

What You Receive

New booking — event type, date/time, guest name, and meeting link.
Cancellation — details of the cancelled booking.
Reminder — upcoming meeting alert with a join link.

Troubleshooting

If the 6-digit code is not recognized, it may have expired (valid for 10 minutes). Go back to Meetario and click Connect again for a new code.
Ensure the Facebook App has the pages_messaging permission.
If messages stop, check that the Page Access Token has not expired — generate a long-lived token or use a system user token.
