How to Add a Booking Link to Your Instagram Bio (and Get Booked While You Sleep)

Why "DM me to book" Is Costing You Clients

If your booking process starts with "DM me", you are losing clients every day. Direct messages get buried, time-zone math confuses people, and every booking takes 5-10 messages of back-and-forth. Worse: people who message you at 11 PM want to book right now — and by the time you reply in the morning, the impulse is gone.

A booking link in your Instagram bio fixes all of this. Followers tap the link, see your real availability, pick a slot, pay if needed, and get a confirmation — all without you touching your phone.

Step 1: Create Your Booking Page

Sign up at meetario.com (free, no credit card) and create your first event type — for example "1:1 Session, 60 min" or "Nail Appointment". Set your working hours, buffer times between clients, and how far in advance people can book. The full walkthrough is in our guide on creating your first booking page.

Your booking page gets a short personal URL like meetario.com/booking/yourname. This is the link you will put in your bio.

Step 2: Add the Link to Your Instagram Bio

  1. Open your Instagram profile and tap Edit profile.
  2. Tap LinksAdd external link.
  3. Paste your Meetario booking URL.
  4. In the title field, write a call to action instead of the raw URL: "Book a session", "Book your appointment" or "Reserve your spot".

Then update your bio text so the link gets noticed. A simple pattern that works: one line about what you do, one line about the result clients get, and a pointer to the link: "Booking is open — tap the link below ⬇".

Step 3: Use Stories and Highlights, Not Just the Bio

Most bookings do not come from people studying your profile — they come from Stories. Instagram gives every account the Link sticker in Stories:

  • Post a Story showing your work, your calendar filling up, or a client result.
  • Add the Link sticker with your booking URL and rename it to "Book now".
  • Save booking-related Stories to a Highlight named "BOOK 📅" so the link is always one tap from your profile.

Announce open slots in Stories regularly: "Two spots left this week — link to book". Scarcity plus a one-tap link converts far better than "write me in DM".

Step 4: Answer DMs with the Link Anyway

People will still DM you. Instead of negotiating times in chat, set up a saved reply: "I would love to see you! Pick any time that works here → meetario.com/booking/yourname". In Instagram: Settings → Business tools → Saved replies. One tap and the client books themselves.

Step 5: Take Payment at Booking (Optional but Powerful)

No-shows hurt most when your income depends on filled slots. Meetario lets you require payment or a deposit at the moment of booking — the slot is only confirmed after the client pays. Connect Stripe, PayPal, Square, Mollie or another provider in a few minutes: see the paid bookings setup guide and why prepaid bookings cut no-shows.

What Happens After Someone Books

  • The client instantly receives a confirmation email with all details.
  • The booking lands in your Google Calendar or Outlook if connected.
  • You get a ping in Telegram or WhatsApp the second it happens.
  • Automatic reminders go out before the appointment, so fewer people forget.
  • Every client is saved to your contact list automatically — names, emails and booking history in one place.

Quick Checklist

  1. Create a free Meetario booking page with your services and hours.
  2. Add the link to your Instagram bio with a "Book now" title.
  3. Pin a "BOOK 📅" Highlight and use the Link sticker in Stories weekly.
  4. Set a saved DM reply that sends the booking link.
  5. Turn on payments or deposits to protect your time.
